The course is for beginners, those with a little experience and those who want to extend their existing skills. It will include introduction to basic techniques of using the tools with reference to a variety of illustrations and demonstration of a range of cuts to render tones and textures. Practice blocks in both wood and resingrave will be provided for a small charge. Students will complete a sampler block trying out effects, then move on to a simple design. It would be helpful if students could bring a sketchbook with black and white drawings or simple ideas or even photographs may be used. All materials will be provided.
