Safer Etching— using a solution of Copper Sulphate and Salt

Tutor:- John Welsh

9th Ocober 2010

In recent years  safer ways of etching have been developed which do not use acids. One of these ways is the use of a solution of copper sulphate and salt.

During this practical day course we will take you through the whole process of making a plate and taking a print using this method, including the use of hard and soft grounds and developing tone as well as line.

By the end of the day you will have had the opportunity to make experimental  plates and to make a plate of your own design.
