Courses

The following course will be held during

2009

7th March 2009 - Printing for Beginners with John Bunday:-A one day introduction for those who have little or no knowledge of printmaking techniques or for those who are new to the workshop and would like to develop existing skills using the equipment and facilities which Poole Printmakers provide. Let us know which printmaking processes you would like to try.

21st March 2009 - Wood Engraving with Kath Littler.The course is for beginners or those with a little experience. It will include introduction to basic techniques of using the tools with reference to a variety of illustrations and demonstration of a range of cuts to render tones and textures. Practice blocks in both wood and resingrave will be provided for a small charge. Students will complete a sampler block trying out effects, then move on to a simple design. It would be helpful if students could bring a sketchbook with black and white drawings or simple ideas or even photographs may be used. All materials will be provided.

28th March 2009 - Solar Etching with Ruth Oaks :- A one day course for those wanting to discover this new etching technique or develop experience already acquired in it. Solar etching is a process which avoids the use of chemicals when making the plates

18th and 19th April 2009 - Silkscreen Printing with John Sargeaunt and Demeter Dykes (each day can be booked individually but you will need both days to cover the photo-screen process)

19th and 20th September 2009 - Painterly Prints (Silkscreen Monoprints) with featured artist Martin Brewster and Demeter Dykes. A weekend course organised by Poole Printmakers and Poole Painting Studio

3rd October 2009 - Wood Engraving with Kath Littler (see above for more information)

17th October 2009 - Collograph and Monoprint with John Bunday

14th November 2009 - Introduction to Relief Printing with Ruth Oaks

28th November 2009 - Solar Etching wth Ruth Oaks

Courses are available from June to September using Poole Printmakers Workshop with Collograph, Linocut Illustration, Solar Etching,Artists Book and more. These courses are run by Poole Painting Studio. Click the link for more details
